Poppies by Penny Black

Poppies by Penny Black by judkajudy
This little stamp has escaped ink even though I've owned it for a couple of years! Coloring it with Copics has brought this sweet image to life! One of my favorite color themes is black, white and red and that seemed so right for these poppies!

That's a Sizzix texture folder providing the chevrons and dots in the background. Isn't it fun that I don't have to choose between dots or chevrons, I can have both!! And of course, I still have some bubbles left!! They remind me of dew drops just waiting to land on those flowers ....
I am entering this card in the CAS-ual Fridays CAS challenge to make a birthday card.

We are planting Knock Out rose bushes today. The weather finally looks reasonable for planting. These roses are supposed to bloom from spring until the first frost in the fall. According to the tag, they need little or no maintenace .. just water and enjoy!! My kind of flowers!!

I am so pleased you stopped by today ... hope you can plant roses where you live pretty soon!

hi judy - your card is wonderful - love the colors. i'll have to try something like that with my HA poppies. also happy to tell you that this week the stamp fairy (bought those MS sheet protectors for my dies) AND the bridge fairy (won 1st in a 6 table all day bridge thing) came!!! that bridge fairy is one elusive gal tho!!

Red, white and black is always so classy Judy. Love the combination of the chevrons, dots and gingham. It's way to early for any kind of planting here (we actually got a bit of snow yesterday) but my tulips are popping out of the ground.

Pretty poppies! The embossing folder is very nice, too.

Too early to plant here, but I may have to look for some of those roses you mentioned; low maintenance sounds great!!

Mm-mmm, yummy, Judy! This is a really, really pretty card. I have never seen that chevron/circle EF and agree with you about how cool it is to have both in one EF!

I've also never seen the bubbles before. I've just enjoyed a scroll stroll back aways through posts I've missed and I don't blame you for wanting to put them on every card! Precious ... and on my wish list now!!

Those colors are stunning together, what a great card. No rose planting here yet, but my daffs are beautiful, and the magnolias are full out (in Mass.) Thanks for stopping by my blog.
