Classic Penny Black

Instead of cleaning, purging and labeling in the craft room, I sat down and made some cards with some of my older Penny Black stamps.  It was a lot more fun than the original plan.

For the last card, I was playing with my new Koi water colors.  I am in love with them; so much better than the inexpensive little sets I've owned.

Mimi's Love by Penny Black

There was a surprise in my mailbox this week.  My friend Penny had some "extra" goodies to share and luckily she chose me!

Inside the package were three products in this gorgeous blue.  The blue ink is officially Radiant Neon by Tsukineko; the little blue dots were made using Imagine Crafts Irresistible Neon Pico Embellisher.  Also in the package was a bottle of Irresistible Neon Colored Texture Spray.  This RAK arrived on just the right day at just the right time.  Stamping friends are the best friends!

I'd been dealing very unsuccessfully with the auto insurance company responsible for settling our claim from the October car accident and the stress and frustration had sent my mojo scurrying for cover.  The new products were the motivation I needed.

I stamped the heart image from Penny Black's "So Very Much" transparent set with the Radiant Neon ink "Electric Blue", and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I added a few dots of the Neon Pico to make things more interesting.  The four dots on the corners of the red paper are also made from the Pico. 

The cap on the bottle of Irresistibel Pico has a built in "needle" that fits into the tip of the bottle so there is no clogging!  This is a product I want in more colors.  You can make your own enamel dots!

I did try working with the Irresistible Texture Spray, but I think I need some practice!  I plan to check out Penny's  amazing blog Penny Ward Ink to see how she uses it.  My efforts were not worthy of sharing.

Share a Hug

I just love Valentine's Day!  More specifically, I love making cards for Valentine's Day.  The images are cute, sweet and adorable; and fun to color.

This sweet image is from Penny Black's Transparent set "Share a Hug".  I just did some simple Copic coloring, used some heart shapes for the base and stitched it all onto some kraft paper.  And who doesn't love hugs?

Happy New Year to my Special Friends

It's a new year and I am playing with new stamps!  This adorable image is from Penny Black's new Love and Friendship release.

Just simple stamping and Copic coloring along with some Washi Tape borders.  One of my New Year's resolutions is to use up some of the supplies that I seem to collect rather than use.  Washi tape is at the top of that list (just ahead of sequins).

Penny Black and Simon Says Stamp

My friend Barb Engler is the guest designer this month on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog.  This week the theme is "winter" and they are highlighting Penny Black stamps.  In spite of the fact I should be making sure everything is ready for our flight to Wisconsin tomorrow, I could not resist entering the challenge.

I am editing this post to add that I am also entering this card in Virginia Lu's challenge "All things distressed".  The background is made with distress inks applied with the blending tool.

And because there is magic in the air at this time of the year, I will be in Wisconsin and on the Penny Black blog this Saturday!  I told you, it's magic!!

When I look at this card I see a winter sky .. I hope Simon Says agrees!
