Hero Hues Sea Patterned Papers

Hero Hues Sea Patterned Papers by judkajudy
I was so excited to learn that Hero Arts has made the Hero Hues patterned papers available digitally! I purchased them immediately and was soon dismayed to discover that the Sea color papers and the Sunshine color papers would not open for me!

After an afternoon of back and forth with customer service at Two Peas in a Bucket (they really tried!), Hero Arts came to the rescue and sent me the files directly from the designer! No more problems! Thanks, Hero Arts for the great customer service!

This card uses the floral pattern. Each of the 7 colors has 8 different patterns. I love this large flower background because you don't have to add much to make a pretty card!

I used Hero Arts' Art of the Card Word Shadow stamp, embossed in white as the sentiment. I was inspired to emboss the image by Kelly Booth's use of that technique on one of her cards.

I see unlimited possibilities for making cards using the Hero Hues digi papers and the Word Shadow stamps! This would be a good place to start for someone just entering the world of stamping!

It's a sunny cool day here in Northern Alabama. But the trees are budding out and Spring is not far away. I hope it's a pretty day where you are .. And thanks for stopping by!!

90 Minute Scramble

90 Minute Scramble by judkajudy
This afternoon, Barb of the Hero Arts Flickr group, hosted another 90 Minute Scramble. The instructions today were to include at least one Hero Arts stamp, a flower image and a die-cut.

This is the Hero Arts Tea Rose stamp, framed by a Nestie die cut frame. This is a Nestie I have had for a couple of years and never used!! Fits in with my resolution to start using the "stuff" I have!

Barb is a great host and we all had fun. The cards are amazingly beautifu, and all done within the 90 minutes allowed!

It's a rainy day (again) and a great day to be stamping! Thanks for stopping by!

Asian Dolls Thank You

Asian Dolls Thank You by judkajudy
I have ten shallow drawers filled with Hero Arts wood mount stamps which were in a serious state of disarray! My New Years' resolutions included purging and organizing my stamping "stuff"! I have several boxes of no longer needed cardstock, embellishments and tools ready to be taken to the nearby elementary school for the teachers and kids to enjoy.

The organization process acquainted me once again with stamps I loved at one time and have sadly neglected as new ones came into my life. These Asian Dolls still make me smile. I paper pieced their outfits, added gems to their hair and colored their darling faces with Copics.

My New Years' Resollution actually is to get rid of 50% of what we own by the end of the year. That sounds a bit drastic, I know, but in six years we have gone from everything we own fitting in a 35 foot RV to filling up a three bedroom home with a garage and attic!

I purged my closet yesterday and have amost 40 empty hangers and three boxes of clothes to donate! And I haven't gotten to the shoes and purses.

It is good to have this time to work on projects while dh is in Arizona visiting his brother. Won't he be surprised when he comes home and there isn't much left in the house!!

For those of you looking forward to the three-day weekend, enjoy!! There's a 90 minute Scramble on the Hero Arts blog this Saturday. Check it out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Etched Flowers

Etched Flowers by judkajudy
I stamped the Hero Arts image onto patterned paper, using Iris chalk ink from Hero Arts. After adding color with Copics, I added Flower Soft to the flower centers and the leaves. I cut around part of the image and stitched it onto black card stock. Mounted it onto the card base and voila! I've entered this into this month's contest at Hero Arts, under the "Hello" card category.

I love this floral image and plan to play with it a bit more!

Winter has returned to our part of the world! But we will be warm and cozy in the concert hall attending "Celtic Women", a birthday present for my husband! I think we will call it Valentine's Day, too, considering the price of the tickets!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Penny Black Betsy Bluebell

Penny black Betsy Bluebell by judkajudy
I felt like doing a bright and cheerful "girlie" card on a rainy Sunday! Love Betsy Bluebell by Penny black. I think she will bring cheer right out of the envelope!

I am enjoying my new "retirement". Mondays are a lot more enjoyable when you don't have to be at work at 7:15 a.m. However, I spent the morning doing our taxes; it feels good to have that done.

Hope you have a Betsy Bluebell in your life when you need some cheering up. Thanks for stopping by.

Vintage Car and Skyline

Vintage Car and Skyline by judkajudy
That skyline reminds me of my fun weekend in Minneapolis! And that Vintage Car could be me, trying to keep up with big city life! Had a wonderful visit with my daughter and enjoyed being spoiled! Temperatures were mild, with a light dusting of snow to make things pretty.

The background is Hero Arts' Newspaper Skylline stamped with Hero Arts mid-tone ink, Wet Cement. The car is stamped and embossed and cut out. I am loving the new Hero Arts stamps!

Mall of America Business Meeting!

This is a photo of me with three of my Hero Arts blogging friends.  From the left:  Linda W; me; Anne B; and Barb E.  We met at the Mall of America for lunch and continued our visit at Archiver's!  The chatting never slowed down!  We all agreed we felt like we had been good friends forever.  Thanks, ladies, for a great visit and good shopping advice!  Hope to see you again!!
