We had a lovely 60-something degree day today. Sunshine and blue skies abounded! I worked on a church project this morning and this evening my sister and I watched "The Social Network" on pay per view! We felt so adult! I've never used that function before and it is so easy! Now I have seen a few of the movies that are up for awards tomorrow night. I'm hoping "The King's Speech" gets recognized for the genuinely enjoyable story it is!

I don't think I'll be watching the entire Oscar night! Since I have to be at work at 7:15 am on Monday, I will read about it in the newspaper! Thanks for stopping by and keeping me company while my camera and dh are in Ethiopia!

My camera has gone to Ethiopia with my husband. I couldn't justify the expense of another camera just so I could play while he is gone. I uploaded a few cards I made before he left. The ten days are going by quickly! I've worked extra hours; had lunch with my sister; and had some stamping time. This weekend I hope to empty out the closet in my craft room and restore it to tidiness!! If the weather continues warm, I hope to go for a good walk. Like everyone, I feel the need to leave the indoors and reconnect with the outdoors. Thanks for stopping by!

By the way, the card I entered in the Kaboodle Doodles challenge was chosen for third place in the Top Three! Giggle, giggle!

Shopping Lauren

Shopping Lauren

My granddaughter turned ten yesterday! She is so beyond the age of ten when it comes to shopping, fashion and anything girlie! This year she requested money for her birthday as she has an electronic gizmo in mind. When I saw this "Shopping Lily" stamp on the Kaboodle Doodles site, I knew it could be a "Shopping Lauren"! This will go in the mail on Tuesday.

I used glitter pens to accent the sunglasses and the shopping bags, as well as other little places. A girl can't have too much glitter!

I snuck the camera out of my husband's luggage in order to take this photo. He leaves for a misison trip to Ethiopia on Monday. We have talked about it for so long, and the day is almost here. He will be installing water pumps in villages where the women walk at least ten miles for water! Please keep him (and me) in your prayers for a safe journey!

Sizzix Die Cuts

Sizzix Die Cuts

This isn't a Valentine (obviously), but it is part of my Valntine's Day celebration! I spent my days off from work cleaning my house and preparing for a Valentine dinner for 19 last night. The menu was Swedish meatballs on egg fettucini. Guests brought side dishes and desserts. My house is on the small side, but we set up our former dining room table in the living room and then had three tables of guests. Ended with three games of "Catch Phrase" that became more hilarious as people realized they hadn't brought their glasses along and were frantically swapping reading glasses before their turn! A good time was had by all, and why do i worry and fret so?

Anyway, back to the Valentine story! When my dh asked what I wanted for Valentine's Day, my answer was, "A trip to the new Joanne's on the other side of the city." And the gift was there was to be no complaining! So, after church we had lunch at the mall and headed to JoAnne's. It was there I bought these Sizzix dies and a Sizzix embossing folder. All paper crafting items were 40% off!

Next stop: Michael's where I bought the flower Martha Stewart punch and some fun little items. The circle notecard came in a packet of 8 cards and envelopes for $1.00!

While I was shopping at Michael's, DH went to the sporting goods store and bought new golf shoes! So, we both received what we wanted for the holiday. And that's not all: tomorrow night we are going to PF Chang's for dinner!

My husband is leaving on a mission trip to Ethiopia on February 21st and we are dining with our Pastor who is also going on the trip, and his wife. Thought we spouses should share our feelings about the upcoming trip.

So, I hope I am back to stamping and done with house cleaning for awhile! Our weather is sunny and in the 60's today! What a wonderful change from the snowy cold winter!

Hope your Valentine's Day is full of fun surprises and time to do the things you love!

Go Packers!!

Go Packers!!

I had to quickly color and assemble these pictures for my Atlanta grandkids. We will see them this weekend and they are super hyped about the Packers being in the Super Bowl! They may live in Atlanta, but the Green Bay Packers allegiance has been carefully taught!

There are many things that bind families together and gathering to root for their favorite team is one of them! It's about fun, food and good times. I am looking forward to Grandma time! Go, Pack!!
