Color Throwdown at the Lily Pad

I have been waiting for the premiere challenge at the Lily Pad and was happy to see the bright and cheerful color palette Vicky and Deborah came up with.

I colored the digital clown from the Digi Doodles Shop with Copics, matted it using a purple card base, some BoBunny dots and another purple patterned paper. Used my Ranger Enamel Accents and tied a bow using some very bright and cheery ribbon!

About a year ago I posted a card I made using a clown image on the Hero Arts Blog. I was surprised to learn that many of my fellow stampers do not like clowns! Seems they had been traumatized somewhere in their childhood by a clown! I only have one memory of having been to a circus and I was one very excited and happy seven year old! When I was raising my children, we lived a short distance from Baraboo, Wisconsin, home of the Ringlling Brothers Circus. I took my children to the Circus World Museum for the performances and afterwards we would walk down to the banks of the Baraboo River and watch the circus elephants splash and play in the water while their keepers scrubbed them down!

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to visit the Lily Pad!

Fabulous use of these colors, Judy! And I loved your memory of visiting the circus with your children. How could that adorable clown face disturb anyone? Don't get it!

Wow, Judy--your Copics coloring is really awesome!! You nailed the colors down perfectly, too. Count me in as a clownophobiac. Something about those shoes.....and that white pancake makeup!

Judy, I've never been traumatized by clowns and don't understand why there's a fear of clowns. I think they get a bad reputation for no good reason! This one is adorable and I love the rainbow of colours on your card. The stitched edge finishes it off so nicely!
