Valentine Dance by Penny Black by judkajudy
I used Penny Black's slapstick/cling stamp "Valentine Dance" to make this card. I stamped and embossed the butterflies and then I wanted bold color a'la Jill foster! Well my Festive Berries distress ink was not giving me the thick layer of color I wanted .. and just then I noticed a tiny spot of embossing powder that hadn't melted. I grabbed the heat gun and zapped that spot and then just to be sure, heated up the entire image.

Well, when I applied the distress ink to that very warm surface, it was magical! The ink spread like warm butter! And I got the deep color I was hoping for. So, there's a little hint; apply Distress ink to a heated surface and see what happens!

I'm busy making Valentines for the family. I'm thinking if I take the bow off of this one, it can go to one of the guys in my family. Or maybe guys make an exception for bows when it is Valentine's day!!!

Have a great weekend. We are still colder than we should be here in Alabama. Great stamping weather!! Thanks for your visit today .. I love company.

Guys should definitely make an exception for bows when it's on a Valentine card! I love that beautiful image! And what a great tip on adding ink to warm paper - love when we discover those things by accident! It really is a beautiful card, Judy! ♥

So adorable, Judy! I love the bright color and that ribbon/bow with the tiny hearts on it. Stay warm - we had blowing snow all day and the wind chill is horrific!

What a terrific card, Judy! I think the ribbon is really cool--could always tie it in a knot if you don't think a bow will be accepted by the guy.

Mom,

That card is down right cutting edge. Bold and dark colors love it.

This is a pretty card. Love the stamp and your accidential technique. Guys know Valentines day is all about love, they will get over a bow! At least it's in black.

How nice of your son to chime in ! Your Valentine card is so unique .Love how rich color you achieved by applying the distress ink to the warm paper. Wonder if Tim H. knows that trick ?
