Easel Card

Easel Card

I found the instructions of how to make this uncomplicated easel card on the Crafters Digital Art Center and decided to give it a try.
I watched Lucy's video demonstrating how she so expertly adds stitching on her cards. I really tried, but I have an inexpensive machine that seems to have a mind of its own sometimes!

Anyway, I knew I wanted to use purple, but my original plan was butterflies! Don't know how flowers happened instead!! My favorite parts of the card are the twine and my idea to put dots of acrylic enamel by Ranger to serve as the "bumper" to enable the front of the card to stay in place. The stamps are Hero Arts, the patterned paper is Basic Grey.

Now, can you guess what this string of names is? Corbin, Cooper, Campbell and Graeme.
No, it's not a law firm; not a brokerage firm; not a company name of any kind. These are the names of the infants I take care of at the daycare! Two boys, two girls! I do have a Daniel; I guess his Mom didn't read the Baby Names book!

I haven't posted in a while. Sorry about that! I have been busy making cards and will post more tomorrow. I need to get more timely with mailing cards out to people I know who could use a card right now.

It is twenty-four days until my husband leaves for his mission trip to Ethiopia! The immunizations are finally done. We have stacks of assorted "stuff" waiting to be put into suitcases. Each member of the team will be taking little toys, soccer balls, Frisbees, school supplies, etc. for the children they will be meeting. I told my husband it would be ok to bring back a few of the children! We are so blessed and have so much.

Judy, I love this post! First of all, your card is so gorgeous! I love the bright white against the purple and the easel design is fabulous with the dots of acrylic enamel to hold the card open. . . .brilliant! Love that you realize how fortunate you are. I wish your hubby the best on his trip. It takes a very special person to go on mission trips and I already know how special you are! Hugs to you, my friend!

What a FABULOUS post, Judy! Not only you show off your BIG talent ( that easal card is beautiful) and the fun names, too (they sure do sounds like a law firm's name!!). I so admire your DH perparing for the missionary trip. Those immunization shots are a pain, BUT they are SO worth it! Keep us posted! Love visting your blog!

Your card is really lovely - so glad you allowed it to develop on its own! Loved hearing about the little ones, too - interesting names! I know a Campbell, a little girl. Guess it will be awhile before Judy and Linda come 'round again, huh? Keep us posted on your husband's trip!

Oh, and have I told you how much I like the way your blog looks! Pretty in pink!!
