Sketch Challenge at Wee Memories
The white butterflies were punched out with my new Martha Stewart double edge punch! It punches the top and bottom edge at the same time! There are several styles and of course, I want them all! I stitched the strips of butterlies onto the card. White embossed the Hero Arts butterfly and Hello definition.
It was 66 degrees here today! A beautiful day to be out and about! After my dh finished washing the car, we went shopping. He dropped me off at Michael's and went to the sporting goods store to purchase a new golf club. We stopped by the new JoAnne's to see if they were open yet and learned it will be this Friday! Oh dear, trouble ahead! Next stop was the organic food store that opened recently. What a feast for the eyes!! We practiced great restraint and only purchased what we went there for: a baguette and noodles to go with the vegetable soup I made today.
Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Easel Card
I watched Lucy's video demonstrating how she so expertly adds stitching on her cards. I really tried, but I have an inexpensive machine that seems to have a mind of its own sometimes!
Anyway, I knew I wanted to use purple, but my original plan was butterflies! Don't know how flowers happened instead!! My favorite parts of the card are the twine and my idea to put dots of acrylic enamel by Ranger to serve as the "bumper" to enable the front of the card to stay in place. The stamps are Hero Arts, the patterned paper is Basic Grey.
Now, can you guess what this string of names is? Corbin, Cooper, Campbell and Graeme.
No, it's not a law firm; not a brokerage firm; not a company name of any kind. These are the names of the infants I take care of at the daycare! Two boys, two girls! I do have a Daniel; I guess his Mom didn't read the Baby Names book!
I haven't posted in a while. Sorry about that! I have been busy making cards and will post more tomorrow. I need to get more timely with mailing cards out to people I know who could use a card right now.
It is twenty-four days until my husband leaves for his mission trip to Ethiopia! The immunizations are finally done. We have stacks of assorted "stuff" waiting to be put into suitcases. Each member of the team will be taking little toys, soccer balls, Frisbees, school supplies, etc. for the children they will be meeting. I told my husband it would be ok to bring back a few of the children! We are so blessed and have so much.

Tiffany Doodles Poppy in Oval
The snow that fell a week ago is finally starting to melt. It has been so strange to look out my windows and see everything covered in snow. After being home for an entire week, I return to work tomorrow. The babies are all a week older and at their age, they will have changed a lot. Mondays are always a bit challenging becaue the babies have been home with parents and grandparents all weekend and have to readjust to being part of the group. Tomorrow, they will have been home for more than a week and they will have a big adjustment to make!
I wish all of you a great day off if Martin Luther King, Jr. day is a holiday for you; and for those who begin their work week, hope all goes well! Thanks for stopping by!

Tiffany Doodles Dogwood
This card is made with a Tiffany Doodles digital stamp, Dogwood. I resized it in Paint Shop Pro, printed it out, colored with Copic markers, added some white enamel centers, seam binding dyed to match and some patterned paper and stamped background. The stamped background is Hero Arts new Envelope Pattern and I love that stamp! I am entering this in the Tiffany Doodles January challenge. Here's the sketch:

It's Tuesday! It's Time! Hero Arts 2011 Catalog Blog Hop!
Flowers, flowers everywhere! The new catalog has so many opportunities to celebrate the coming of Spring! This card uses the "must have" S5507 Envelope Pattern background stamp and CL496 Layered Flowers.
This card design is a lift from the sample video of Jennifer McGuire's Technique Garden DVD. It also uses the S5507 Envelope Pattern background stamp and CL496 Layered Flowers. Same stamps, different look!
I took a break from the flowers just long enough to play with CG280 My Type cling. The backround stamp is CG138 Ledger. This is a salute to all the women who have ever typed for a living!! Now that men are doing it, it's called keyboarding!!
Layered Flower clear set 496 paired this time with the new cling background stamp Small Stitched Flowers CG242. The surprise here is that the flowers are cut from fabric, reinforced with iron-on Pelon!
CL502 Just Saying Hi is the perfect set to keep in touch with family and friends. Again, it's paired with the S5507 Envelope Pattern.
That's it from me! Thanks for hopping by! Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win a prize from the ever-generous Hero Arts Stamp Company! Next stop; Nancy's Happy Heart Studio.

Penny Johnson
I have a plan for this card .. but it's a secret for now!
Today is the last day of my Christmas vacation from work. Tomorrow I return to my job at the daycare center to babies that have been with parents or grandparents for two weeks! And we have two infants coming for the first time, too. It will be a very interesting day!!

For Shar
I made this card for my sister in law, Sharlene who lives in Phoenix and is battling cancer. She is halfway finished with chemo and so far, the results are good. I thought she needed an angel. Last report from her husband is that the "card wall" now contains 120 cards! Now that's what I call support!
